A look inside the quiet world of the shapers rewriting modern boards.
Board Talk with Ellis Ericson
Our BOARD TALK series aims to celebrate the craftsmanship of modern day shapers pushing the boundaries and normalities of what’s possible with surfboard shaping, deepening our knowledge resting within a variety of shapers not commercially seen or heard but found in-store at Keel Surf & Supply.
For our first instalment, we're deep diving into the headspace, morality, processes, and lifestyle of Ellis Ericson. Having grown up around the Byron area, Ellis now resides on the mid-north coast of Australia. Working out of his backyard shed turned shaping bay, Ellis is helping progress surfboard shaping in countless, innovative ways from cutting his own foam blanks to recycling almost all of the waste created. Excited to share our first piece celebrating the beauty of a simple life layered in creativity, passion and good intent.
